The objective of the CSAGPA was to promote research and demonstration of sustainable agricultural practices.
The poster CSAGPA Projects - NW Saskatchewan will focus on the Agriculture Green Plan work done in NW Saskatchewan.
Green Plan participants have included: University of Saskatchewan and Crop Development Centre researchers and local organizations such as the NW Saskatchewan Grasslands Association, Farm Woodlot Association of Saskatchewan, and ADD Boards.
Projects include studies such as annual forage crop field evaluation, a reduced herbicide rates study, and research on the potential pesticide use of natural compounds from rhubarb. There have been several surveys for land use planning: Soil suitability for tree growth and biophysical inventory of the Whitehood forest. Projects have also included demonstration and research on poplar management in pastures, extending fall grazing, direct seeding, weed control, and water quality projects.
This poster will present information on all of the above projects and more.
